Goalkeeper Jack Cudworth is expected to be fit after missing last week's 4-1 defeat at Southend with a back strain but Carl Tremarco and Shaun Brisley remain sidelined with hip injuries.
Earlier this month the Silkmen signed left-sided French defender Tony Diagne on a contract until the end of the season and Simpson is happy with his club's business.
He said: "I was extremely pleased to get Dan Gray to extend his loan deal and I'm confident that Tony Diagne will be a useful addition at the back given the number of games we are now looking at over the coming months."
