Cynthia Silk Previews The New Season!
|
So! this weekend the new football season starts and the Silkmen find themselves in a new League - it's Goodbye!!! to the boring old Butlins Challenge League Division B and a big Hello!!! to the new exciting Illuminati Elite League Fourth Division. It was about time the Football Leagues had a shake up and Cynthia says well done!
Cynthia's hope for the new season is that touch judges finally get a better understanding of the offside rule. It's quite simple! Any player more than 5 yards from a corner flag with a broken metatarsal is offside unless the club's manager is having an affair with a secretary, in which case the fourth official shall make a video replay judgement based upon the Duckworth-Lewis formula . So there, all you umpires! it's that easy - Cynthia says get a grip!
Can Macclesfield Town emulate England's success in the summer European Championship competition in Greece? The way captain Tim Henman kicked that winning ball over the crossbar for three vital points brought plenty of cheering at the Silk household! And it's a big congratulations to the winners, Portugal, the new World Club Champions.
Cynthia's tips for the new season - watch out for Accrington Stanley, the new boys back in the League at last. It'll be good to see their famous green and white stripes at the Moss Rose.
